Remodelling / Gainshare Solution Deployment Quarterly Update
In 2017, we announced that as part of our Superfast Surrey Programme, 6,000 additional homes and businesses were included in the Gainshare Solution and were anticipated to benefit from further fibre infrastructure.
The programme team subsequently undertook a desktop review of the Gainshare solution and identified premises on a few of the structures that already had commercial fibre. These structures were de-scoped from the Gainshare solution which resulted in a small amount of funding being released that could be used for additional fibre deployment. SCC requested that Openreach consider all the remaining 10,000 premises on slow speeds in Surrey and develop a solution that would maximise the number of additional premises benefitting from faster speeds from this very limited funding.
We anticipate being able to announce the outcomes of the remodelling within the next two months. As soon as we are able to do so, we will upload the updated Gainshare list, which will include the additional postcodes onto the Superfast Surrey website.
Gainshare Solution Deployment Quarterly Update
Over the past year Openreach have been undertaking a significant amount of detailed planning and design work relating to those postcodes that were announced in February 2017. From now on, we are able to provide quarterly updates on our website that list those postcodes where there are premises that have been connected to the fibre network.
The first of these quarterly lists is below. If a postcode is on the list, it indicates that one, some or all of the premises in it have been connected to the fibre network and can now access download speeds of 24mbps or more. If you live in one of the postcodes, please visit the BT Availability Checker (use your landline without a space or click on the address link at the bottom of the BT Availability page) to find out if your home or business is now able to access download speeds of 24mbps or more. If you can access good speeds and you would like to order a fibre service, please contact your Service Provider to find out what services they are offering.
